TX, School Grant Funding
Federal grant funding has been released to the State of Texas for school safety upgrades. Under Texas Senate Bill 11, school districts have access to $100 million for infrastructure improvements over the next two years, including but not limited to campus-wide active shooter alarm systems, vehicle barriers, and metal detectors at school entrances. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has been awarded $2 million in federal grants for schools to implement threat assessment and mental health training programs.
