THE SCENARIO:
After having a confrontational, non-custodial parent attempt to pick up a child, staff at a small daycare wanted to add security to better protect their colleagues and kids. Primarily, their need was to add a video camera and intercom speaker at the front door of the building. This would provide personnel the ability to see and speak with parents to verify their identity and their authority prior to letting them inside. After verification, daycare staff could then unlock the door to grant entry into a safe space where parents could wait while their children gathered their things.
Staff at the daycare also wanted the ability to identify parents, students, or other visitors from three interior areas: the front office, the main room, and the baby room.
THE SOLUTION:
An IP video intercom installed at the front door provided clear audio and video of anyone calling to request access. Three interior master stations provided a clear view for staff to identify visitors before unlocking the door.
These master stations not only provided the convenience to answer calls throughout the facility, they also provided internal communication for staff members.
