Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can LEF or LEM Series intercoms replace an existing AP-M or MP-S install?
Typically not. AP-M and MP-S Series intercoms had a higher maximum volume for applications like drive-thrus and paging. Our current line of analog intercoms do not provide the same degree of volume. The recommended upgrade path is our IX | IXG Series. You can reach out to your local Aiphone sales representative for more assistance.
-
Can LEF or LEM Series intercoms replace an existing NEM install?
Typically not for answering stations. LEF and LEM answering stations will not have enough capacity to replace an existing NEM answering station, since it will not have another channel and will lack other key features. The recommended upgrade path is our IX | IXG Series. You can reach out to your local Aiphone sales representative for more assistance.
LE Series substations or door stations like the LE-SS/A or LE-DA can replace existing substations. This requires a PC-359B latching board.
