No Call Tone or Chime When A Door Station Calls KB-3MRD or KB-3HRD

Solution

Check the DIP SWITCH SETTINGS underneath the handset, behind the buttons.

  1. Remove directory card.
  2. Switches 1, 2, 3 correspond to each door station.
  3. UP position is the OFF position, contrary to the labeling molded into the plastic. If these switches are UP, then the chime and video will be cut off when the associated door station calls in.
  4. LIGHT switch (far right): UP is ON, DOWN is OFF (contrary to the position of door switches 1,2,3).

Instructions below from the instruction manual indicate that switches should be UP for chime to work. This is incorrect. Switches should be in the DOWN position for chime and video to work.
