ADI’s Joanne Rowe calls Aiphone her “go-to” manufacturer
Ask Joanne Rowe, the Toronto branch manager for ADI Global Distribution – the security industry’s leading distributor of equipment for video, access control, and more – to name her favorite products. Her short list starts with intercoms from Aiphone.
“Aiphone is our go-to manufacturer,” Rowe said. “I can’t say enough about the quality of its products and I deal with hundreds, probably more than 1,000 products. The company offers great solutions to specific problems and its technical support is far above that offered by any other manufacturer.”
However, she’ll jokingly admit she has one problem with Aiphone’s products. “I see legacy products I sold many years ago still being successfully used in the field,” Rowe said. “That can be frustrating for someone who makes a living selling new equipment.”
Even though Aiphone has a reputation for quality and longevity, we don’t rest on our laurels. New components and products are always being developed to upgrade legacy systems—offering valuable, feature-rich upgrades, often for lower costs than replacing entire systems.
The 24-year ADI veteran said the current hot Canadian market for intercoms is multi-tenant office and residential buildings. Tenants have grown accustomed to using their smartphones for a wide variety of tasks including protecting the entries to their offices and homes. This is where Aiphone’s new IXG Series IP video intercom, complete with a cloud-based tenant app, is a perfect fit.
Rowe said schools also continue to be a big market for Aiphone entry and outdoor security and communications solutions. “Aiphone helped make that Canadian market with its earlier IX Series and recent IX Series 2 video intercoms,” she said.
It’s people like Joanne and her ADI team that have made it possible for Aiphone to celebrate its 50th North American anniversary this year.
