Aiphone is now offering architects a session showing the value of intercom systems in improving security and communications on school, college, and hospital campuses, and at multi-tenant buildings. The course is designed to help architects meet annual continuing education requirements for membership in the American Institute of Architecture.
It’s also convenient. As part of its outreach to the architect and engineering community, Aiphone will send its instructors to the offices of a single practitioner or larger firms.
The one-hour session – Security and Communication with Intercom – covers the topics of perimeter security, internal and emergency communication, and paging announcements, pointing out how and where intercoms and other tools can assist.
The AIA requires its architect members to annually complete 18 learning units (18 hours) of continuing education for membership renewal. The Aiphone course counts as one of the six required general learning units related to a range of architectural, construction, and engineering issues. Completed courses are valid for three years.
