THE SCENARIO:
A local jail, considered to be in an extremely rough part of town, was constantly having officers assaulted as they transported prisoners to their jail cells from various locations.
Officers would often end up wrestling prisoners to the ground as struggles would ensue. Due to this recurring frequency, the police station needed a way for officers to call for help, whether they were standing or on the ground in a scuffle.
THE SOLUTION:
Security management chose to have vandal‑resistant IP intercoms installed between each cell and at the end of each hallway: one at eye level and one near the ground.
These strategically mounted IP intercoms allowed officers to call for assistance when trouble occurred. Any of the three master stations in the command center would receive the distress calls while a separate monitor displayed the network camera view of the hallway.
